We are founders of new startup based in Poland but a global product. We’re a group senior entrepreneurs from Canada & Poland with many years of experience building solutions for clients worldwide. Our group is comprised of subject matter experts in lean recruitment, marketing and application development. We are currently building the next-gen recruitment platform that will be deployed on a global scale and we are putting together a star team to make it all happen.

This is an exciting project once you know the details and it has already received seed funding from one of venture capital investors in Poland.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are in search of a talented Lead Ruby on Rails developer to work on a contract basis for an estimated of 6 to 7 months with the opportunity to join the team on a long term basis. This will mostly be remote work with a team located across Poland. Therefore, the candidate should be very communicative, capable to closely collaborate with others via e-mail, chat and video calls. At the same time be capable of working independently and provide agreed deliverables and meet deadlines.
The project will be build in phases, using Agile Methodology with expected adjustments to the scope. We will have weekly Skype planning meetings with close collaboration throughout the week. The candidate should be capable to commit a large portion of their daily and weekly working hours to this project.
REQUIREMENTS
- Solid experience in developing large business applications (for instance, you have participated in several long-term software projects)
- Passion for building software, software craftsmanship and fast paced, iterative development
- You have build several large web applications or APIs in Ruby on Rails
- Familiarity with popular third-party libraries and tools in the RoR stack (e.g. ActiveRecord, I18n, RSpec, Capybara).
- You believe in developer testing and have used it in practice in your projects
- Solid knowledge of front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML 5, CSS 2/3
- Good knowledge of SQL language and experience with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL)
- You know Linux from a user perspective
- Good sense of humour & you actually like collaborating with people!
NICE TO HAVES
- Test Driven Development experience
- Experience with Continuous Delivery techniques and tools
- Practical knowledge of “Infrastructure as code” approach
- Experience with working in Agile

Location: Ideally you are in Krakow, but if you’re what we’re looking for remote work is fine as long as you’re able to work and collaborate via Skype smoothly.
